Josie

We had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Josie Badger, the recently appointed Executive Director of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on People with Disabilities, in her home in western Pennsylvania.

Dr. Badger shared with us how assistive technology, including smart home technology, has enabled her to achieve the life of her dreams with a beautiful family and a career serving people with disabilities.

Josie’s Goals

1. Greater independence at home, including the ability to work from home for the Governor’s office, control the lights, close curtains, and change the thermostat
2. Taking care of her young son safely on her own
3. Overall safety and security, including traveling in her accessible van and bathing on her own
