Susan Tachau

Susan Tachau, a founding member of PATF’s Board of Directors, was appointed Executive Director, and now Chief Executive Officer, of PATF in 2003. Susan is passionate about expanding financing opportunities for people with disabilities in order to access assistive technology. A proven leader and program developer, Susan is responsible for the overall management, advocacy efforts and fundraising activities of PATF.

Susan and her colleague, Tracy Beck, are the primary authors of Cents and Sensibility: A Guide to Money Management, the first comprehensive financial education book that’s geared to individuals with disabilities who are transitioning into adulthood. Susan is also the project director of PATF’s generic smart home technology project, a project funded by PA’s Developmental Disabilities Council.

Susan serves on a several Boards of Directors and advisory committees, including as Chair of the Disability Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Coalition and Director for the National Disability Institute. She is chair of the Technology Subcommittee of the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) and she serves as a member of the Montgomery County Aging and Adult Services Advisory Council. Susan is also a member of the Board of Directors for HomeWorks, a micro-board that supports individuals with disabilities who are living independently in Montgomery County.

Susan is married and the mother of three adult children, two of whom have disabilities. She has a B.A. from Colorado College, a M.A. from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University and a Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, from Colorado College.

Tracy Beck

Tracy Beck is PATF’s Operations Director. She is responsible for implementing policies and procedures that expand opportunities for accessing assistive technology devices as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the loan program.

Tracy has over 25 years’ experience in the social service and education field. Her area of expertise is in program design and evaluation, and housing for people with disabilities. Prior to joining PATF, Tracy was the Executive Director of Residential Living Options, an organization that assisted people with disabilities in creating housing options. She also serves on numerous committees and boards that promote independent living for people with disabilities. Tracy is the past president of the Self-Determination Housing Project of Pennsylvania.

Tracy is married and resides in Wilmington, DE. She has one son who lives in Pittsburgh. Tracy and her husband are world travelers, bee keepers, and have a keen interest in historic preservation.

Joesphine Tramontano

Josephine Tramontano is PATF’s Development Director. She is responsible for maintaining, expanding, and diversifying PATF’s funding base.

Prior to joining PATF, Josephine worked for 21 years for the Institute for American Values (IAV), which became Better Angels in May 2016. Josephine brings her extensive knowledge of all phases of the life, growth, retraction, and rebirth of a non-profit organization to PATF. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, and is currently pursuing her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.

Josephine is married and resides in Chester County, PA. She is in the chaotic midst of raising 4 young daughters with her husband, Bill.

Susie Daily

Susie Daily is PATF’s Outreach and Social Media Coordinator. She helps increase awareness about PATF’s programs and services across Pennsylvania by updating our social media sites, writing our newsletter, and creating outreach materials. If you know of a person or organization who would benefit from knowing about us, let her know!

Susie’s true passion is dogs, and she has started her own non-profit, Paws and Affection, which trains and places service dogs with children with disabilities in the greater Philadelphia area.

Susie is married and lives with her husband, Andy, and two dogs, Beans and Ludo, in Philadelphia.

Marlies Singh

Marlies Singh is PATF’s Financial Manager. She maintains PATF’s financial records and works on the financial reporting requirements for government grants, payroll, and employee benefits. Marlies also reconciles the databases used for accounting and the loan program and assists PATF’s auditors.
Marlies has an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto. She has spent most of her career in the financial management of non-profit organizations. Marlies is married and has two daughters, Amy and Katherine, who share her favorite hobbies of butterfly gardening and photography

Kirby Smith

Kirby Smith is the founder and President of SunKirb Ideas, LLC.  His wife and partner in the business is Suria Nordin.  Kirby has over 30 years of experience in technology and customer service.  Before starting SunKirb Ideas, LLC, he was the Senior Vice President of Information Technology for PRWT Services, Inc. with responsibility for all technology, compliance and data security for the company and its affiliates.

In July of 2014, his wife, Suria, was injured and became a quadriplegic. He found the technology being offered to improve her life was outdated, expensive, and very limited due to customizations.  Suddenly, simple everyday things were challenging.  They solved those issues and July 2015 formed a company to bring these solutions to an underserved population.  SunKirb Ideas, LLC offers affordable off-the-shelf consumer based solutions through technology to give those with disabilities and unique challenges the ability to be more independent and have more control of their environment. This enabled people to control the lights, temperature, turn on and off alarms, control their doors, control music and entertainment, see and communicate remotely, and control the televisions (including the cable box, TiVo, Netflix and Hulu) using voice commands.

Stephanie Lynch

Stephanie is the Smart Homes Made Simple project coordinator. Before joining the team, she worked at Ernst & Young for 5 1/2 years supporting Expatriate Tax Teams. Stephanie has a Bachelors Degree in Business from Stockton University. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, 4 year old daughter, and her 1 year old son. When she’s not chasing her little ones around, she enjoys wine tasting, the beach, and relaxing.
